At first, I used to think they were just harmless counterfeits to trick someone into thinking they were getting a deal. But since then, I’ve seen how much harm they’ve done to the original designer’s reputation and how it’s just plain wrong. It was my way of standing up for the little guy because it’s not just the big Coach brand that gets affected by these fake bags, but all the independent retailers, too.
I’ve also reached out to some of the bloggers and influencers that I respect to lend their voice to the issue. I asked them to use their platform to spread awareness, and while not everyone was keen at first, it didn’t stop me from trying.
