Fake Cheap Designer Bags eBay – What a Rip-Off!
I’ve been trying to pinch a bargain on an eBay designer bag for absolutely ages. All the supposedly great deals seem to be too good to be true. Ultimately, I feel like I got conned. All I wanted was a cheap designer bag but I ended up getting tricked.
It’s like this: I thought I’d saved myself a couple of hundred bucks. I searched and searched but nothing really seemed convincing. Eventually, I decided to go for a deal that seemed too good to be true, but I snapped it up anyway. Can you believe it – what a con!
Now, don’t get me wrong here. I’m not saying everybody is dishonest. It’s just that it’s so easy to get tricked when you’re looking for a good deal online. You can’t always tell what’s real and what isn’t.
You could say there’s a fake bags bag epidemic. Bona fide designer bags are hundreds of bucks, and it seems like you can just as easily get a pile of plastic in the same bag for a fraction of the price. Who can you trust these days?
I don’t want to sound suspicious but the truth is, you can’t tell if what you’re getting is the real McCoy or a counterfeit. It didn’t take long for me to realize I had been swindled. The thing is, the bag had the designer’s name printed on it, and all the tags were there, and the package looked official – so it seemed legit.
Oh man, I was so blissfully naive. In hindsight, I now know it was just a cheap knock-off – and I was conned. I feel like a muppet, I tell you.
When I received the bag, I noticed some of the seams were wonky and the material was plastic-like. I frowned when I saw it, and it felt very lightweight. I was shocked when I realized what had happened – d’oh!
I was fooled and I felt gutted. I mean, I’d scoured the entire Internet, and eventually found this good ‘deal’. I though I’d hit the jackpot, but it turned out to be false hope.
But here’s the thing, the next time I went shopping for a designer bag, I knew exactly what to look for and was able to spot genuine from false in no time.
Anyway, since my disappointing shopping experience, I’ve been doing research and discovered that there are a few tell-tale signs people can look out for. For starters, it’s best to steer clear of any bags with diagonal seams on outside pockets, or zippers with fewer than three-teeth on the pull. Additionally, it’s worth noticing if certain details such as logos, crafts, and finishes have been poorly copied.
Also, the price tag is a major clue. If something seems too good to be true, it probably is, and a genuine designer bag will never cost as much as a meal for two from McDonald’s. Luxury replica bags are designed to last and they are made from quality materials. Fake ones will rapidly disintegrate.
Essentially, it’s about being vigilant. As much as it pays to be savvy, you need to be careful not to be taken in by clever scams. Don’t be intimated by the seemingly decent deals you find online, because if something smells fishy, it probably is.
You can always shop around and consider a few options before making a purchase. Also, check a bag’s tag and double-check the website you’re buying from. I’m fortunate that I haven’t been conned too badly, but it could have been a lot worse.
Now I know that if it seems too good to be true, it probably is – and I’ll never fall for that trap again!
